LAUNCH OF THE NIGERIA’S FIRST PRIVATE SECTOR LED ELECTRICITY MARKET SUMMIT GROUP

Electricity Market Summit Group (EMSG) to unveil High level 20 man body of Co Chairs February 2016. Chairmen/CEO’s of leading firms across Nigeria and Africa with interests in Nigeria’s growing Electricity Market pledge support as Co Chairs. Leading brands in the sector join partnership train.

Dr Noel Akpata successfully founded Nigeria’s first private sector led Electricity Market Summit Group which was officially inaugurated on August 20th 2015 under the Chairmanship of Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance/National Planning Dr Shamsudeen Usman. Based on his capacity development engagements within the power sector he felt it was time to create such a platform.

Dr Akpata and the Chairman also successfully co-chaired the high level panel on national electricity market policy and implementation alongside:

APC,National Publicity Secretary of the APC)

MD/CEOS of selected Genco’s/Discos, service providers, civil society groups and the media were also in attendance.

Special guest of honour was the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,His Excellency,Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

The Electricity Market Summit Group would be Nigeria’s foremost private sector led entity set to shape national policy strategy on issues centered on the nation’s electricity market (retail/wholesale/service provision)
